{more} love

There simply aren't the words to encompass the sorrow and shock of last week's tragedy.

For me?

I've let go of even trying to put it to words.

Instead I send love. I send every ounce of love I have to those families that have been ripped apart.

I send healing energy because they are going to need the energy of the universe to fall on as they even think about the task of putting back together their broken hearts.

I send prayers. Prayers to our Creator to hold them. Prayers to our Creator to guide us as a human collective to a place of love and of light.

And I say the names of their loved ones. I honour them and I remember them and I do not glorify this event or it's perpetrator.

And then I cry. I cry for those families, for those daughters and sons and for our Earth that we have allowed hate to become such a part of our lives.

This quote came up in my fbook feed today:

"No one is born hating another person... People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite."
-- Nelson Mandela

Lets teach love. Offer love. And not just with those we already know and where it comes easy, but with complete strangers. And not just when we have been shown the deepest darkest parts of the human experience. It's beautiful how people respond during a crisis with a spectacular outpouring of love...how everyone sees their own lives in a light that is tinted with more magic than usual, but maybe we can teach ourselves to keep that light? Maybe we can grow to a place where that is our norm?

Make eye contact with and smile at strangers.

Hug your kids and tell them how much you appreciate their joyful spirits and their kind hearts.

Help someone in need.

Offer compassion.

Offer kindness.

Offer gratitude.

Expect nothing in return.

And love yourself. Fall deeply and madly in love with your own noble spirit and those waves will ripple out.

It's simple. LOVE. It can and will change everything.
